Cade Winery is a partner winery located on Howell Mountain in Napa Valley. A partner winery to Plumpjack, also located in Napa, they produce Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc from their estate property as well as other vineyards in Napa Valley. Environmentally friendly, they were the first Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold Certified estate winery in Napa Valley.
John Conover, Gavin Newsom, and Gordon Getty founded Cade Winery in 2007. The winery quickly rose to fame when the 2008 vintage of their Estate Cabernet Sauvignon scored 98 points with the American wine critic Robert Parker. The winery sits at 1800ft above the Napa Valley floor on Howell Mountain, where 54 acres of organically farmed vineyards are planted to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.
Cade produces a Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the estate property, as well as their Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Additionally, another Cabernet blend is made, sourced from vineyards in Saint Helena, Oak Knoll, and Calistoga. Finally, a Sauvignon Blanc is produced from a vineyard in the Oakville AVA. The Cabernet Sauvignon are known for being rich and powerful, with the capacity for significant aging.
