Domaine Fourrier is a Burgundy wine estate based in Gevrey-Chambertin on the Côte d'Or. Its wines, mostly made from Pinot Noir, are highly sought-after and known for their silky finesse. Fourrier is perhaps best known for its wine from the famed Clos Saint-Jacques Premier Cru vineyard.

The domaine's vineyard holdings total 8.7 hectares (21.5 acres), located predominantly in Gevrey-Chambertin. These include parcels in seven different Gevrey-Chambertin premier cru sites, and a small plot in the Griottes-Chambertin Grand Cru vineyard. Plots in Chambolle-Musigny, including two Premier Crus, Morey-Saint-Denis and the Les Petits Vougeots Premier Cru vineyard complete the portfolio. Only fruit from vines older than 30 years old are used to make Domaine Fourrier wines.

Robert Parker

Rating 93-95 RP - The 2015 Griotte-Chambertin Grand Cru has a beautiful bouquet, very pure and refined with blueberry, raspberry and cold stone aromas, just a distant hint of sea spray in the background. They palate is medium-bodied with crisp tannin, great depth and harmony, a gentle grip in the mouth with a precise black cherry and blueberry finish that just needs a little more persistence to come through.

Burghound

Burghound 93-95 BH - This is just as elegant and even more complex with a lovely range of spice elements that add interest to the softly earth-inflected aromas of red and dark cherry, rose petal and oak hints. The palate impression of the middle weight plus flavors is also succulent and seductive while delivering superb length on the firm but once again not austere finale. This too should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years yet the density and balance are so good that it should easily repay long-term cellaring.
