“RP97 - 1997 Pride Mountain Vineyards Reserve Cabernet - 97 pts! While only microscopic quantities were produced of this wine It is an immense wine of extraordinary concentration and depth. Amazing the 1997 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve pushes richness to unreal levels. Despite its intense full-bodied ultra-concentrated style it possesses a sense of balance and definition. The color is a saturated inky purple. The aromatics consist of lead pencil shavings minerals blackberries cassis and flowers. Extremely full-bodied with amazing purity mouth-coating richness sweet tannin and low acidity it offers profound drinking even though it has not yet begun to develop secondary nuances. RP”

    About Pride Mountain Vineyards

Pride Mountain Vineyards was founded in 1990 by Jim and Carolyn Pride and since 2004 has been owned by their children Suzanne Pride Bryan and Steve Pride. From 2004, the winery has been run and managed by Steve Pride, CEO and Director of Winegrowing. Moreover, these wines catapult Pride Mountain into the top echelon of California's quality wineries.

Overall, their winemaking practices are traditional, even as they continue to evolve, and are designed to let the terroir signatures of the grapes be present in the finished wines.  The Bordeaux varieties of red grapes are 100% destemmed and fermented over a two-week period in stainless steel before being racked to 50% neutral and 50% new French barrels where they age for roughly 18 months with racking every 4 months.  An exception is the syrah that is only partially destemmed and is aged in 100% neutral barrels.
