From 1950, as there was no winemaker in the family, the vineyards were contracted out to Faiveley and Bruno Clair, with the latter selling the wine in bulk. Between 1985 and 2004, Frédéric Mugnier was able to take back the vineyards as leases expired.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eOn top of the Musigny Grand Cru, Jacques-Frédéric Mugnier makes a wine from the Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru vineyard, as well as two premier cru wines, \u003ca title=\"Les Fuees Wine\" href=\"https:\/\/www.wine-searcher.com\/regions-chambolle-musigny+les+fuees\"\u003eLes Fuées\u003c\/a\u003e and Les Amoureuses, and a village-level wine. From the Nuits-Saint-Georges holdings, Mugnier makes a Clos des Fourches premier cru wine, and a red and a white premier cru from the Clos de la Maréchale vineyard, which is a monopole of the domaine. \u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eVineyards are farmed without herbicides or pesticides and just two mildew treatments per year. Grapes are de-stemmed and whole berries are fermented in old open wooden vats. An incredible effort that should live for a very long time indeed. By contrast there is a better sense of energy and strikingly good detail to the penetratingly mineral-driven medium-bodied flavors that display an incredibly refined and ultra-pure mouth feel on the deeply complex and persistent finish. This is a bit of a head scratcher as it was notably better from cask. The resulting wine is very special indeed, and the name that distinguishes it this year pays tribute to Mugnier's thirty-second harvest. Wafting from the glass with aromas of wild berries, rose petal, currant leaf and spices, it's medium to full-bodied, ample and layered, with unusual power and concentration, its deep core of vibrant fruit framed by fine but firm structuring tannins.
