He was the 12th generation winemaker in his family, which has an extensive history in the southern Rhône. He first started working in the vineyards in the 1950s, though due to the popularity, value and scarcity of his wines, early vintages are virtually non-existent. Total production at Bonneau is about 1,500 cases in a good year, but thanks to the insistence of Bonneau's American importer, Alain Junguenet, our country is getting several hundred cases.
