Reflecting Woodbridge's impeccable attention to detail it boasts a dense plum\/purple color a sweet smoky perfume of melted caramels blackberries cassis cedar spice box and hints of graphite toffee and oak an expansive rich full-bodied personality and beautifully integrated tannin. Even though it is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon it tastes like it could have come from the tenderloin section of Pomerol. Drink it over the next 10-15 years. Seductive and sensual with notes of cedar sweet kirsch graphite and spice the wine is full-bodied layered gorgeously plump and thrilling to drink now and over the next 10-15 years. It is French in style but with the exuberance and gorgeous fruit purity of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan Vineyard which will be in the bottle by the time this report is published seems like a cross between Pomerol's garagiste estate Le Pin and a flamboyant vintage of Cheval Blanc. It boasts an extraordinary perfume of graphite, cassis, blackberries, creamy white chocolate and subtle smoke. This full-bodied, opulent, heady, rich, voluptuously textured 2002’s finish lasts for 50+ seconds. This killer Napa Cabernet Sauvignon should last for another two decades. This fabulous wine from the eastern hillsides of northern Napa Valley, not far from the Eisele Vineyard, boasts an inky\/blue\/purple color as well as an extraordinary perfume of mulberries, black cherries, cassis, graphite, forest floor and charcoal, an astonishing texture, a full-bodied opulence and extraordinary richness and length. It is a modern day legend that tastes even younger than it did 7-10 years ago. These wines have an amazing ability to firm up and become even richer and more complex, which is exactly what great winemaking and terroir can do. Kudos to Jason Woodbridge for another sensational wine. For those concerned about alcohol, the label shows 15.9%, but there is not a trace of warmth in this beauty. It will last for at least another 20-25 years, perhaps longer. In each of my tastings of the 2002 Cabernet Sauvignon Kayli Morgan, the wine has gotten better and better, and that has been true of nearly every vintage of Hundred Acre I have tasted since the debut 2000. This spectacular 2010 possesses abundant creamy creme de cassis notes intermixed with notions of mulberries and spicy oak and a broad, expansive, savory appeal with decent acidity as well as ripe tannin. As in nearly every vintage, this 2010 can be drunk early yet has the uncanny intensity and overall harmony to age effortlessly.
