Taking an exceptional piece of land for growing Cabernet Sauvignon, the Araujos created an authentic winegrowing estate. They replanted the vines, introduced organic farming and became among the first Napa Valley vintners to embrace the principles of biodynamic farming. They re-designed the estate grounds and safeguarded a diverse eco-system to ensure the health of the land.\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThe Araujos also constructed the first winery on the property, including temperature-controlled caves, tastefully\u003c\/em\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003c\/div\u003e\n\u003cdiv class=\"span4\"\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eintegrating the architecture with the natural and historic landscape. The Araujo’s contribution to this property – its beauty and vitality, its wines and its stature – cannot be overstated. The aromatically forward 1997 will be among the more seductive and sexy Cabernet Sauvignons produced in the nineties. It possesses all the ingredients necessary for greatness - concentration purity and richness - but what sets it apart from other vintages is its evolved aromatic personality. The wine tastes as if it is 6-12 months older than it actually is something I found with many 1997 North Coast reds. The color is a healthy saturated dark purple. The wine is elegant rich in fruit medium to full-bodied and extremely expressive even flamboyant.
