Loaded with notions of black fruits, black licorice, roasted herbs and olive tapenade, it's a thrilling example of Grenache and of Chateauneuf du Pape. Full-bodied, massively concentrated and structured, it's not for those looking for immediate appeal and needs another 4-5 years in the cellar.”

Roger Sabon is a family-owned estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with a range based around four different red Châteauneuf cuvées. The estate has 39.5 acres under vine in Châteauneuf-du-Pape of which 15 are planted to red varieties, including Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
Winemaking is traditional with aging in a mix of barrels and vats of various sizes and ages. While the Prestige cuvée may be the flagship in terms of availability and quality-price ratio, Le Secret des Sabon is widely regarded as one of the best reds in the region – made largely from century-old Grenache vines, its price reflects its reputation. There is also a white Châteauneuf-du-Pape, a red Lirac and Côtes du Rhône.
