2016 Domaine de la Cote "La Cote" Pinot Noir - 95 pts!
Domaine de la Côte is a collection of six vineyards planted over 40 acres on the farthest western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Originally part of the Evening Land Vineyards program, the Domaine was purchased by Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman, along with their partner, at the beginning of 2013. Moorman discovered the site and developed the vineyards with Chris King in 2007.

Under his direction, the vineyards were planted entirely to California heritage selections at extremely high vine densities between 4,000 and 7,000 vines per acre. The Domaine organically farms its vineyards and makes its wines with the philosophy of "add nothing; take nothing away."

Robert Parker 93 RP - There are 300 cases of the just-bottled 2016 Pinot Noir Estate, and it's clear that Domaine de la Côte's entry-level bottling is going from strength to strength as the vines mature and produce more consistent results. The wine bursts from the glass with an expressive bouquet of spice, Griotte cherry, rich soil, undergrowth and rose hip, followed by a medium-bodied, supple, satiny palate, with a beautifully textural attack and an intense, saline finish. And if you surmised that the quality of this bottling bodes well for the wines that follow in the lineup, you'd be right.
Antonio Galloni
95 AG - The 2016 Pinot Noir La Côte is lifted and very precise, with a more distinctly savory and red-toned profile than the other Pinots in the range. Bright acids run through a core of cranberry, blood orange, white pepper, chalk and mint. Readers will find a chiseled, beautifully sculpted Pinot that is all energy and precision. The 2016 needs a bit of time to soften, but it is super-impressive.
