1998 Domaine Gros Frere et Soeur Richebourg Burgundy Pronounced oak char that did not dissipate even with extended aeration coupled with high-toned red fruit and mineral notes. Pretty, medium weight, quite structured flavors that lack adequate buffering sap and thus finish with a drying, astringent edge to them. Plenty of elegance and good finesse but this is very good rather than excellent. BH
