Bevan Cellars is a producer of Napa Valley and Sonoma wines based in Bennett Valley. It sources fruit from vineyards across the two major wine regions to produce small-lot wines made primarily of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Bevan Cellars' full-bodied, richly flavored wines score high with the press, making them highly coveted by collectors, and usually only available on allocation.
The estate was founded by Russell Bevan and Victoria De Crescenzo in 2005. Before relocating to California, the two made regular trips to Napa Valley where they met and were mentored by esteemed winemakers Philip Togni and Bob Foley.
Bevan Cellars is most famous for its red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, both varietal and as part of a Bordeaux blend. These wines include the Sugar Loaf Mountain Red, the Tin Box, and the McGah Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which have been awarded 100-point scores by American wine critic Robert Parker.

Robert Parker | 96 RP - Aged in Taransaud (75%) and Darnajou (25%) oak, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box is more backward than the perfect 2011 was last year, but it reveals similar decadence, opulence and velvety texture. Its opaque blue/black/purple color is followed by a stunning perfume of white chocolate, spring flowers, blueberries, blackberries, and an unctuous, massive mouthfeel. It should age effortlessly for two decades or more. |

97 AG - The 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box, from a tiny site nestled among what many observers consider the most pedigreed part of Oakville, is utterly magnificent. Explosive and structured on the palate, the Tin Box hits the palate with intense blue and black fruit, spices, mocha, savory herbs, new leather and rose petal, but it is the wine's complexity and huge, eternal finish that stand out above all else. Readers who own the Tin Box can look forward to 15-20 years of absolutely thrilling drinking. This is a stunningly beautiful wine from Russell Bevan. |
