Bevan Cellars is a producer of Napa Valley and Sonoma wines based in Bennett Valley. It sources fruit from vineyards across the two major wine regions to produce small-lot wines made primarily of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. Bevan Cellars' full-bodied, richly flavored wines score high with the press, making them highly coveted by collectors, and usually only available on allocation.
The estate was founded by Russell Bevan and Victoria De Crescenzo in 2005. Before relocating to California, the two made regular trips to Napa Valley where they met and were mentored by esteemed winemakers Philip Togni and Bob Foley.
Bevan Cellars is most famous for its red wines made from Cabernet Sauvignon, both varietal and as part of a Bordeaux blend. These wines include the Sugar Loaf Mountain Red, the Tin Box, and the McGah Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon, all of which have been awarded 100-point scores by American wine critic Robert Parker.

Robert Parker | 96+ RP - From a vineyard just 200 yards away, the 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box is another 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from clone 7. This wine plays it slightly closer to the vest, showing plenty of earthy forest floor notes interwoven with white flowers, crème de cassis, licorice and cedar wood. It is full-bodied, rich, and while being made from a different clone of Cabernet Sauvignon, the aging in barrel is in part similar – 75% in new Taransaud, but the balance aged not in Gamba, but rather in new Darnajou. This wine should go on for 20-25 years at minimum. |

97 AG - The 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon Tin Box emerges from a parcel of 50 year-old vines in the heart of eastern Oakville. An exotic mélange of graphite, smoke, licorice, mint and crushed rocks add nuance to a core of unctuous, inky dark red and bluish fruits. A total pleasure bomb delivers superb intensity along with explosive energy, both of which make it impossible to resist. Once again, the Tin Box is one of the highlights in this range. |
