Cardinale Estate is a wine producer in the Oakville sub-region of Napa Valley. The estate is most famous for its proprietary red wine, a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot sourced from AVAs around the area, including from Mount Veeder and Howell Mountain. The estate is a part of the Jackson Family Wines portfolio and has been under the leadership of winemaker Chris Carpenter since 2001.
The Cardinale blend is created from two key estate vineyards – Veeder Park vineyard in Mount Veeder and Keyes vineyard in Howell Mountain. The Veeder Park vineyard, on the southwestern edge of the Napa Valley, is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Merlot, and contributes 37 percent of the grapes used in the final blend. The vineyard rises to 1800ft (550m) above sea level, and has around 25 hectares (63 acres) of vines on gravelly loam and black soils.
