Kongsgaard is a cult California wine producer widely renowned for making richly textured yet elegant Chardonnays, which are among the very best in California. The wines have received numerous accolades from critics, including Robert Parker who gave the 2013 vintage of The Judge 100 points, calling it "certainly one of the greatest Chardonnays I have ever tasted".
John Kongsgaard is one of the most lauded winemakers in the US, having previously made wine for Newton, Luna and Arietta.
The Kings Farm (the translation of Kongsgaard) range are the "little brothers and sisters" of the main brand. These wines are made in small quantities and initially only available to mailing-list customers.

| Robert Parker | 98 RP - The Chardonnay The Judge, a special cuvee of 15 barrels (the equivalent of 320-350 cases), is an homage to John Konsgaard’s father, who was a judge. The 2005 Chardonnay The Judge flirts with perfection. Incredibly intense flowery notes along with a liqueur of honeysuckle and crushed rocks compete with some tropical fruit, quince, orange, and pineapple characteristics. This intensely full, fresh, lively, gorgeous white benefits from 22 months aging in barrel, and bottling off the lees unfiltered. |

| Robert Parker Rating | Also amazing, the 2012 Chardonnay The Judge offers impressive aromas of tangerines, orange marmalade, wet rocks, quince, spring flowers and honeysuckle. Impressively full-bodied and majestic with terrific acidity, it is a tour de force in Chardonnay. Furthermore, it is about as “natural” as possible. Thankfully, Kongsgaard is not one to deal in the quintessential B.S. that now seems so prevalent. |

| Antonio Galloni Rating | Honey, apricot jam, cinnamon, tangerine peel and rich, tropical-infused notes meld together in the 2012 Chardonnay The Judge. Rich, oily and voluptuous on the palate, the 2012 boasts marvelous depth and pure texture. Think of the Judge as more of an elixir than a wine. The 2012 is superb. |
