1997 Pride Mountain Vineyards Reserve Claret Magnum RARE!!
Pride Mountain Vineyards was founded in 1990 by Jim and Carolyn Pride and since 2004 has been owned by their children Suzanne Pride Bryan and Steve Pride. From 2004, the winery has been run and managed by Steve Pride, CEO and Director of Winegrowing. Moreover, these wines catapult Pride Mountain into the top echelon of California's quality wineries.

Overall, their winemaking practices are traditional, even as they continue to evolve, and are designed to let the terroir signatures of the grapes be present in the finished wines.  The Bordeaux varieties of red grapes are 100% destemmed and fermented over a two-week period in stainless steel before being racked to 50% neutral and 50% new French barrels where they age for roughly 18 months with racking every 4 months.  An exception is the syrah that is only partially destemmed and is aged in 100% neutral barrels.

Rating RP95 - 1997 Pride Mountain Vineyards Reserve Claret Magnum While only microscopic quantities were produced of this wine It is an immense wine of extraordinary concentration and depth. The compelling 1997 Reserve Claret offers an opaque purple color in addition to a sumptuous bouquet of sweet blackberries creme de cassis and minerals superb richness exceptional concentration and huge body. However it manages to avoid being overbearing or unmanageable. Purity and delineation are also present in this multi-dimensional prodigious wine. Although an infant in terms of development it is accessible because of the ripe tannin and spectacularly-concentrated fruit.
