98-100 RP - The third potentially perfect wine from Tor Kenward is his 2015 Black Magic Proprietary Red, which is his selection of the best barrels, so why shouldn’t it be every bit as good as his top single-vineyard wines? A barrel selection, the 2015 Proprietary Red Black Magic is deep garnet-purple with a nose of violets, lavender and cedar chest with core of red and black cherries, cassis, wild blueberries and tilled soil with cigar and espresso hints. The palate has a lot of oak at this stage and is full-bodied, firm, grainy and generously fruited, finishing long. |
