Gonet-Médeville is a wine producer located in the Sauternes region of Bordeaux. The Médeville family has a long-standing tradition of winemaking in this appellation and today the family holds two Sauternes estates, as well as several others in Bordeaux and Champagne.
Château Gilette is a 11-acre estate located in the village of Preignac in Sauternes. The vineyards are sheltered from the wind to allow the mist needed for the development of Botrytis cinerea, the beneficial mold that gives the wines their unique character. The main wine from Château Gilette is the Crème de Tête wine, made from a blend of Sémillion, Sauvignon Blanc and Muscadelle. Gonet-Médeville's other estate in Sauternes, Château Les Justices, covers 21 acres and makes a more approachable botrytis-affected sweet wine.
