1962 Domaine Henri Jayer Richebourg Grand Cru Burgundy - 98 pts BH!
Henri Jayer was a producer of red Burgundy known for making some of the most critically acclaimed and expensive Pinot Noir in the world. Jayer retired in from winemaking in 2001 and passed away in 2006, and the domaine was left to his nephew, Emmanuel Rouget, and all vintages since 2001 have been released under his name. Limited production and the finite number in existence have made Henri Jayer's wines some of the most collectible and highly priced in the world.

Burghound

Burghound 98 BH - The color is no longer deep ruby but there is no bricking at all. A nose of incredible purity and elegance explodes from the glass with fresh and spicy black fruit aromas that are quite remarkably almost entirely primary in character followed by precise, sweet, round and perfectly balanced medium full flavors of quite simply unbelievable length. This quite reminds me of the '62 La Tâche as there is the same spiritual quality of immaculate calm and a certain cool reserve yet the flavors and finish are generous and warm. A flawless effort that is perhaps the greatest Richebourg  BH
