Maison Ambroise is a Burgundy wine estate at Premeaux-Prissey, a small village near Nuits-Saint-George. It produces a range of wines from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay (plus a Bourgogne Aligoté) from both the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune.
The family farms around 51 acres of vineyards. A large portion of these are in Nuits-Saint-Georges, including three premier cru plots: Les Vaucrains, En Rue de Chaux and Clos des Argillières. Ambroise also makes a standard and a Vieilles Vignes village wine from the commune. At grand cru level, the estate makes a highly rated Corton Le Rognet from vines spread across various altitudes within the Grand Cru.

| Burghound | 95 BH - 2002 Domaine Georges Roumier Bonnes Mares Burgundy - 95 BH The nose hasn't budged an inch since my original review in-bottle review and rests entirely in the red fruit spectrum and rather than spice, there is an intense floral and violet quality followed by detailed, ultra pure and tautly muscular flavors that deliver real punch and a lovely minerality on the incredibly long backend. A complete and seamless wine of enormous complexity and considerable underlying reserve plus enough structure for at least three plus decades of life. A great effort that is even better than I originally thought it could be from cask and because it appears to be evolving at a snail's pace, I have extended my initial suggested drinking window accordingly.
