The estate wines produced by Dalla Valle Vineyards originates in specific vineyard blocks, imbuing each with a unique sense of place. There are three wines produced each year from the estate.
Collina Dalla Valle, translating from Italian to “Hill of the valley”, is the introductory wine into the brand. This red blend is created from the younger vines on the property and offers a more approachable profile in its youth.
Dalla Valle Cabernet Sauvignon was the first wine created from the estate in 1986. Always blended with a small fraction of Cabernet Franc, the Cabernet expresses the beauty of Dalla Valle Vineyards terroir.
Maya, named after founders Naoko and Gustav’s daughter, is a special blend of Maya’s Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and our best selected blocks of Cabernet Franc.
MDV is a mailing list only wine that is produced only in exceptional years. It is a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Maya’s Vineyard, the base of Maya.

Rating | 99 RP - The Maya Proprietary red wine is usually a blend of 45% Cabernet Franc and 55% Cabernet Sauvignon. The 1994 Maya may or may not turn out to be a perfect wine but it is unquestionably one of the most prodigious compelling young Cabernet Sauvignon/Cabernet Franc wines I have tasted. The color is a dense opaque purple. Note the wine's sweetness pureness and layers of ripe black fruits dosed with spicy new oak smoke Asian spices and an underlying mineral component. The antithesis of a lightweight red wine this massive full-bodied glycerin-endowed super-concentrated wine has maintained its equilibrium despite its enormousness. The sweetness and silky tannin so characteristic of the 1994 vintage are present but I would opt for aging the 1994 Maya 5-7 years and drinking it over the following 25-30. RP |

Antonio Galloni Rating | A rich, dense wine, the 1994 Maya hits the palate with an exotic melange of dark cherry, smoke, plum, melted road tar and orange zest. This is oneof the more obviously ripe, opulent wines among the early Mayas, but all the elements are in the right place. A decidedly flashy Maya, the 1994 will drink well for another decade or more. |
