1999 Marcassin Blue Slide Ridge Pinot - 98 pts!
Marcassin is truly a Cultwine with its incredibly rish, opulent Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines which are extremely difficult to obtain. Helen Turley's personal production winemaking philosophy is focused on quality and excellence always calling for, "great vineyards, meticulously farmed, limited yield, long hang time, and natural yeast."

The 20-acre estate vineyard on the Sonoma Coast produces only 100 barrels annually. None of the wines interact with fining, filtering, or cold stabilization and are routinely aged for five years before they're released. This is truly one of California's most highly acclaimed, rare treasure: Marcassin Estate. The CultWine rules always applies with Marcassin.........."Find it............Buy it............Drink it!"

Rating 98 RP - The 1999 Pinot Noir Blue Slide Ridge is composed of pure black fruits mixed with floral overtones. It is dense, opulent, and nearly viscous with extraordinary purity and concentration. It comes across as a New World version of perhaps Domaine de la Romanee-Conti's La Tache or Richebourg, or a Claude Dugat or Dugat-Py grand cru. It is an awesome effort that falls just short of perfection. RP
