1999 Marcassin Estate Pinot - 96 pts!
Marcassin is truly a Cultwine with its incredibly rish, opulent Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines which are extremely difficult to obtain. Helen Turley's personal production winemaking philosophy is focused on quality and excellence always calling for, "great vineyards, meticulously farmed, limited yield, long hang time, and natural yeast."

The 20-acre estate vineyard on the Sonoma Coast produces only 100 barrels annually. None of the wines interact with fining, filtering, or cold stabilization and are routinely aged for five years before they're released. This is truly one of California's most highly acclaimed, rare treasure: Marcassin Estate. The CultWine rules always applies with Marcassin.........."Find it............Buy it............Drink it!"

Rating 96 RP- 1999 Marcassin Estate Pinot Noir - 96 pts! The 1999 Pinot Noir Marcassin Vineyard reveals a mineral, soy, Asian plum sauce characteristic, along with notes of black raspberries, scorched earth, steak tartare, and assorted black fruits. Subtle notions of toasty vanillin from new oak aging also emerge. This wine has full body as well as remarkable concentration, length, and presence. This fabulous Pinot Noir is young and unevolved.
