Rating 96 RP - The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill Vineyard's tiny production of 190 cases will not be enough for Cabernet lovers. It boasts an inky/purple color thrilling concentration and gorgeously pure aromas of blackberry creme de cassis pain grille white chocolate and vanilla ice cream. Incredibly long pure and dense but tightly-wound this is a wine of enormous constitution and wonderfully sweet integrated tannin yet I got the sense that it was only revealing part of its personality. It needs 7-8 years of bottle age and should last for 30 years. It is a brilliant effort! RP

Antonio Galloni Rating 98 AG - The 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill has grown into an absolutely exquisite wine. Mature Cabernet aromatics and radiant Napa Valley fruit meld together in a super-expressive Cabernet laced with dark plum, gravel, spice and leather notes. For many years the 2001 was a tannic behemoth, but today it is much more approachable. Readers who own the 2001 won't want to miss it at this glorious peak.
Wine Spectator Rating 97 WS - A sensational wine, a near perfect sphere of ripe, fleshy currant, blackberry, plum, cedar, tobacco and heady floral, rose petal aromatics. Intense, concentrated and plush, turing silky-smooth on a long, glorious finish, with espresso, nutmeg and ripe tannins.
