Alban Vineyards is a California estate with a global reputation for its powerful Rhône-influenced blends and varietal wines, which are all sold on allocation, with a lengthy waiting list.

The company is located in the Edna Valley in the southern corner of San Luis Obispo County. In total, Alban has 27 hectares (66 acres) under vine mostly located around the winery. This land has a range of different soil types and mesoclimates, making site selection vital. Alban produces around 6000 cases of wine per year, and has also sold grapes to many other producers of note, including Sine Qua Non.

Robert Parker 96 RP - 2002 Alban Vineyards Lorraine Vineyard Estate Syrah - 96 pts There are only 400 six-packs of the 2002 Syrah Lorraine Vineyard. A flamboyant wine with a sensational nose of blackberry liqueur, melted licorice, acacia flowers, crushed stones, and a hint of blueberries, it is seamlessly assembled with fabulous concentration, an expansive, full-bodied palate, and an amazingly long finish that lasts well over a minute.
