2003 Domaine Georges Roumier Musigny Burgundy - 750ml A bright, fresh and impressively complex aromatic profile reveals spicy floral red and black berry notes nuanced with cherry, plum, kirsch, menthol and warm earth aromas that lead to utterly delicious, pure and quite firmly structured flavors that possess knockout length. For such an obviously ripe wine, this is really quite fine and classy with dense but refined tannins and again, just huge length. The 2003 Musigny will require time, and a lot of it, to fully realize its potential and while it is certainly a creature of its vintage, it's really quite an interesting wine all the same. BH The engaging 2003 Chambolle-Musigny was vinified with 50% whole clusters and aged in 25% new oak. Its fresh plum, floral, black cherry-laced nose leads to a delightful medium-bodied personality. Suave, satin-textured, and fruit-driven, it reveals lively layers of dark fruits. Here Roumier interjected that the 2003s “took on springiness and vigor during elevage,” something many vignerons reported. RP
