Williams Selyem found its success buying and bottling single-vineyard wines, with Pinot Noir as the focus. Single-vineyard wines were not new to California, but the first for Williams Selyem was its 1985 Rochioli Vineyard Pinot Noir.
While Pinot Noir dominates production, Williams Selyem also makes a small amount of Chardonnay, Zinfandel, and a Port-style fortified dessert wine. These offerings vary in production from year to year but many also carry single-vineyard designations.

| Robert Parker Rating | One of the smallest production cuvees is the 2005 Pinot Noir Precious Mountain Vineyard. Aromas of black cherries, raspberries, and strawberries are followed by a soft, medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, an elegant personality, and zesty acidity as well as length. |

| Antonio Galloni Rating | 94 AG - Medium red. Focused red fruits on the nose, with a delicate overlay of minerals and fresh flowers. Intensely spicy on the palate, with vibrant raspberry and strawberry flavors lightly dusted with floral pastille and Asian spice notes. A very silky pinot that finishes remarkably pure, juicy and long, with suave, building tannins. (My sample of the Coastlands Vineyard Sonoma Coast bottling showed a very ripe, almost zinfandel-like character that Cabral said was not typical of the wine.) |
