2008 Seven Stones Cabernet Sauvignon - 98+ pts! RARE - ONLY 239 Cases
Over time, it became evident that the property, surrounded by some of Napa’s most prized vineyards, possessed the well-drained, rocky, volcanic soils that could produce world-class wine. Aaron Pott was hired as winemaker, while the Pinã Vineyard Management was hired to tend the vines. Our inaugural release, the 2005 Seven Stones Cabernet Sauvignon, received high critical praise and sold out quickly, coaxing us to add a few more Lilliputian vineyard blocks and upgrade the winery so that we could coax the highest possible quality out of our exceptional “terroir.” In 2014, we brought on Michael McMillan as our General Manager. With just over 3 acres of certified organically farmed vines planted, we intend to remain a small, estate winery, with no more than 500 cases produced each year. We are proud to share the results with you.

Robert Parker 99+ RP -This vineyard, high above the Meadowood Resort, has produced a 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that was aged in 100% new French oak for 22 months. The label says 14.9% natural alcohol. Having once visited the proprietors, the Wornicks, it is well worth the effort to get an invitation to their property, given the extraordinary sculpture that one confronts on the high steep hillside road leading to the residence. This wine blew me away in the tasting, and again, it is another of the absolutely compelling, great, great wines of this vintage. Of course, it is limited in production, which is always a problem, but this is a candidate for perfection. Inky, bluish/purple to the rim, it has a seamless, full-bodied opulence, with stunningly pure creme de cassis, black cherry and liqueur notes mixed with licorice and incense, yet the 100% new oak is completely concealed. The wine has a hint of minerality and extraordinary richness, texture and a multidimensional mouthfeel and finish. This is one of the great young wines I have tasted recently and, of course, it's still a baby at age ten. Kudos to Seven Stones! By the way, this is the only time I've met one of the Wine Advocate Bulletin Board participants, Roy Piper, who is doing his own thing these days, and I look forward to tasting his wines.

Robert Parker Rating 98+ RP - Very deep purple-black in color, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon has a remarkable youthful nose of crushed blackcurrants, black cherries and wild blueberries with hints of baking spices, cigar box, violets, rose hip tea, yeast extract and crushed stones. Full-bodied, richly fruited and packed with opulent black berries and exotic spice flavors, the palate is wonderfully structured with very firm, super ripe tannins and just enough freshness, finishing very long and layered.
