Spottswoode is a historic, Napa Valley wine producer, located in St Helena. The family-owned estate have been producing wine from Cabernet Sauvignon, Sauvignon Blanc and Syrah for multiple generations.
The estate itself was established in 1882 by George Schonewald. As well as planting the vineyard, he also constructed the Victorian farmhouse which remains on the estate today. It came under its current ownership in 1972 when the Novak family purchased the estate. The first Cabernet Sauvignon wine released in 1982.

| Robert Parker | 100 RP - The deep garnet colored 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon contains 4% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot. It slips sensuously out of the glass with the most beautiful notions of warm cassis, redcurrant jelly, chocolate-covered cherries and cigar box plus wafts of incense, cinnamon stick, cardamom, dried lavender and star anise. Medium to full-bodied, the palate has exquisitely ripe, finely grained tannins and fantastic freshness lifting all those vibrant fruit and earthy nuances to a very long, mineral-laced finish. |
