2021 Domaine de la Cote Bloom's Field Pinot Noir 
Domaine de la Côte is a collection of six vineyards planted over 40 acres on the farthest western edge of the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. Originally part of the Evening Land Vineyards program, the Domaine was purchased by Raj Parr and Sashi Moorman, along with their partner, at the beginning of 2013. Moorman discovered the site and developed the vineyards with Chris King in 2007. 
Under his direction, the vineyards were planted entirely to California heritage selections at extremely high vine densities between 4,000 and 7,000 vines per acre. The Domaine organically farms its vineyards and makes its wines with the philosophy of "add nothing; take nothing away."

 94 AG - The 2021 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field is laced with dark red fruit, herbs, sweet tobacco, cedar, mint and rose petal. Aromatic and bright, with terrific depth, the 2021 is super-expressive. Bright acids and beams of tannin confer energy. Finer clay soils mixed with silt and sand yield a decidedly mid-weight, airy Pinot with tons of aromatic presence and an expression of intensity that is more implied than stated.

    Robert Parker Rating The 2021 Pinot Noir Bloom's Field has a pale ruby color and pretty, floral-driven aromas of raspberry, pomegranate, oolong tea, blood orange and lavender. Chalky, fresh and delicately styled, it's pleasantly austere with a more ethereal style than the other 2021s this vintage and finishes with uplifted citrusy tones.

    Wine Spectator Rating Juicy and driven, with a well-knit core of cherry and damson plum notes, laced with red tea and backed by a subtle flash of grilled herbs. The finish, which is underscored by nice focusing acidity, is steady and persistent as the fruit plays out with chalky minerality.
