In January 2021, Williams Selyem announced the sale of a minority interest to the Faiveley family, who brings seven generations of Burgundian winemaking experience to the Russian River Valley. The sale is part of a longterm succession plan by current owners John and Kathe Dyson. Winemaker Jeff Mangahas notes that Faiveley is one of the first Burgundian houses to plant roots in the Russian River appellation, after the sale of Merry Edwards to Louis Roederer in 2019. There will be no day-to-day changes in winemaking, and Mangahas emphasizes his dedication to the style of wines set forth by Burt Williams 40 years ago.
