1986 黑皮諾, 中央海岸Calera Wine Company 是位於加州聖貝尼托郡哈蘭山（Mt Harlan）的一家備受推崇的酒莊。Calera 以酒莊內一座石灰石窯命名，以其富含石灰石的土壤而聞名，這在加州相當罕見。 黑皮諾（Pinot Noir）是此地的關鍵葡萄品種，酒莊也因此釀製出數款單一葡萄園葡萄酒。
釀酒師 Josh Jensen 在勃根地接受過培訓，曾於 羅曼尼康帝酒莊（Domaine de la Romanée-Conti）參與過收成，隨後又在 杜雅克酒莊（Domaine Dujac）實習。他就是在當地了解到黑皮諾與 夏多內（Chardonnay）在石灰石土壤中能茁壯成長，因此回到美國後，便開始尋找這種風土。
