2015 夏多內, 北岸這一切始於 1970 年代末期，最初是 Ed Selyem 與 Burt Williams 在索諾瑪郡的 Forestville 社區以車庫為據點的創業計畫。1981 年，這對鄰居正式將計畫命名為 Hacienda Del Rio，並成立合法酒廠。兩年後，他們推出首款商業年份酒（1981 年）之際，恰逢 Hacienda Winery 發出停止侵害令，促使他們將酒廠更名為 Williams Selyem。
